Looking Arms

Still hiding your arms?

For many women, the upper arms can be one of the most frustrating areas of the body. Even with a healthy lifestyle, stubborn fat can remain, and changes in skin elasticity over time can make the arms look softer or less defined.

Sometimes the concern is primarily fat. Sometimes it’s loose skin. And often, it’s a combination of both.

That’s why treating the upper arms isn’t simply about removing fat. The goal is to create a smoother, more defined contour that remains natural and proportional to the rest of your body.

What Does Arm Liposuction Do?

Arm liposuction is designed to remove localized pockets of fat from the upper arms and improve their overall contour.

But good arm contouring isn’t about removing as much fat as possible.

I look at the arm as a whole—how it transitions from the shoulder, how it looks from different angles, and how the final shape fits the patient’s natural proportions.

The goal is a slimmer, more defined arm without creating an appearance that looks overdone or obviously operated on.

Where Does Renuvion Fit In?

Removing fat can improve the shape of the arm, but liposuction does not remove excess skin.

When mild to moderate skin laxity is also part of the concern, Renuvion may be used in combination with liposuction to address the skin and improve the overall contour.

This allows us to approach two different components of the upper arm: liposuction addresses localized fat, while Renuvion is used to help tighten the skin.

The goal is not simply a smaller arm. It’s a smoother, firmer, more refined contour.

The combination can be particularly helpful when a patient has both localized upper-arm fat and some loss of skin elasticity.

Liposuction reduces the fullness.

Renuvion can complement the treatment by addressing skin laxity.

But not every patient needs both treatments. And not every patient is a candidate for either one.

Patients with significant excess or loose skin may require a different surgical approach, such as an arm lift.

That’s why the consultation matters.

Is Arm Liposuction Right for You?

During a consultation, I evaluate the amount and location of fat, the quality and elasticity of the skin, the overall shape of the arms, and what you want to change.

Your anatomy comes first. The procedure comes second.

If you have localized upper-arm fat that has been resistant to diet and exercise and have appropriate skin quality, arm liposuction may be an option. If mild to moderate skin laxity is also present, combining liposuction with Renuvion may be considered.

The right treatment depends on your individual anatomy and goals.

The Goal: Natural-Looking Arm Contouring

For me, successful body contouring shouldn’t look like you had something done.

It should look like you—just more defined, more balanced, and more comfortable in your body.

Plastic surgery isn’t about making everyone look the same. It’s about understanding what bothers you, evaluating your anatomy carefully, and creating a treatment plan around your body and your goals.

If you’re tired of hiding your arms or avoiding sleeveless clothing, schedule a consultation with Dr. Sarah Cazorla at Nabella Plastic Surgery to learn whether arm liposuction, Renuvion, or a combination of both may be right for you.
